About The Owner - Roberta Blanck

A Vision to Build Community Pride for All manKIND

I have lived in the Northern Illinois area for my entire life. From Hebron to Loves Park. I attended Belvidere High School then moved to Rockford in 1980. I have 2 children who live in the area too. When I moved to Loves Park I met one of my daughter's friends dad who introduced me to the world of outside sales. I worked for The Polk City Directory for 9 years. We did business to business advertising through the 6 section directory. I was there until they dissolved their salesforce.

Then I was hired on at Yellowbook, now Hibu. I was with them for 16 years where our goal was to help businesses grow through print and online marketing. After a complication from a spine surgery in 2017 I left that job in February 2020. With the economy through this last year it gave me the opportunity to create a new vision for myself and others. It seems like the world has become a very disconnected materialistic place.

My vision is to get back to the ways we used to do business when I was young. (we won't say how long ago that was) Remember doing business with a handshake and a smile? That is a simplified concept of my vision. I would love this website to be the place for bringing neighbors & businesses together to barter or trade their services. It can be an even exchange or a partial barter and then the remainder paid in cash or card.
